Who We Are
The Le Barons car club is a diverse group of car enthusiasts whose interests cover mostly vehicles from the 1920s to the 1970s but there are members with both older and newer vehicles. Members boast restored vehicles from the teens, rods from the 20’s, 30’s, 40’s 50’s, 60’s, muscle cars, race vehicles, pickup trucks, and the list grows. Some members are building their first project while others are seasoned veterans of the car building world.
The car club was founded in 1961 by a group of guys returning from a drag race who felt that there was a lot more fun to be had if they were somewhat organized. For nearly 50 years now the tradition has remained that the club serves a purpose of gathering socially around a common interest in cars and car culture. Our meetings are the first Tuesday of each month at the garage of a member who volunteers to host the evening on a rotating basis. One of the perks of hosting a meeting is that every once-in-a-while we are “forced” to get our garages cleaned out. Meeting topics include car events attended or planned, question and answer periods, planning for club activities, and sometimes a humanitarian or service project the club can do. Meetings usually include some kind of food and beverage as we share an interest in those as well. Travelling together to rod runs is a popular club activity and there’s our upcoming 50th Anniversary Rod Run to look forward to. The Le Barons car club is a fairly casual organization of car enthusiasts who like to gather with the guys and with their significant others for the time honored traditions that encompass car culture.
